Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music and R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine is a name that she has given her was Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue a musical career singing and playing the piano at the church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B music scene. The very first song to feature her vocals was Stalk You the Japanese version of 12; since then it has been re-mixed and is now element of her set. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. She became the primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choral leader for the stage production. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
